We want to reduce or eliminate cleft palates
Our researchers have been able to predictably create cleft palates in our goat models. Then, after creating the conditions required to make the cleft palate happen, we were able to use drugs prevent the clefting. As many scientists know, creating a animal model is often the first step in finding a treatment. Finding a way to prevent clefting is a big deal for the world and we hope to continue this important basic science research to move the world closer to a solution.
Drug-free migraine treatments done at home
SPG blocks have been used since the 1920s to treat migraines. While SPG blocks were effective at headache treatment, the procedure itself was difficult for patients to tolerate. Over the last few years, several device advances have made it possible for blocks to be administered in less than 30 seconds via a nose spray. We imagine a world where patients can administer these effective blocks themselves using a self-dispensing home device.
